This sport centre is located in the middle of a block of low houses and buildings. Even though the sport centre is not directly connected to the street, its imposing scale makes it easily visible from every angles of the block.
Following the slope, the spectators, coming from the parking, arrive at the hall. A moat and two footbridges will be on the way. On the other side, another parking allows the sportsmen and women to go directly to the changing rooms. Next to the building is a garden that creates a buffer zone for the neighboors and allows the spectators to overlook a piece of nature.
These four sports rooms and their annexes are all located under one roof and within a simple volume. Spectators, sportsmen and sportswomen enter the building through independent entrances. At the lower lever, one gains access to the changing rooms and the sports halls. At the upper level, one gains access to the stands where one can take a seat . That’s also where the ticket office, the bar and the lavatories are. There are four accesses to the stands, and spectators can walk around the building to the opposite stands: all along, they can keep an eye from above on the game that is underway.
Contractor: Communauté de communes de Cognac.
Programme: one multisports hall with 1500 seats, one training hall with 300 seats, one gymnastics room, one fitness room, changing rooms, and offices.
