The building works as an extension of the nearby school which had already been built on the plot. Deciding where to build this extension had to take into account various factors: the way the ground is used, the geology of the underground, the intention to keep clear the panorama from the first floor of the neighbouring building, the use of this facility either by school kids or by members of the sports clubs.

The building is on the limit between the plot and the rue Charles Auray and is at street level. Our project has retained this idea in the sense that we have kept the design of its volume very basic, that it is faced all around and that we have left ivy grow up to a height of  2,4 m. There is a glass wall of 60 cms high, on top of which is a concrete tile which is insulated and impervious.

Our intention was that, after a while, this building would be completely unnoticeable within its surroundings.
