As it is, the building, which can be seen from the four corners of the horizon, has two heterogeneous layers: the first layer dates back to the eighteenth century, made of well cut freestones, characteristic of the architecture from that period; then the second layer is made of several additions which can now be considered as detrimental to the overall shape of the building.

Our objectives were to create a building where the successive additions would work well together: the elements that had to be be retained as they are, those that had to be modified, and those that had to be created. Three main functions characterize the building:
1) restauration (considering that the ground floor offers restricted access to the staff, which can make use of a buffet)
2) preparation of the food (UCAP)
3) accomodation for nurses (there won’t be any change to the various accesses, existing stairs, and bedrooms)

Our aim is to give back to the building its original flavour. All additions and other developments will be removed, the stone façade will be cleaned and the windows will be redone following the existing model.
